mi casa es su casa

O
ne of FM's best friends had booked a 3 bedroom villa at the Cabo Azul Resort in Los Cabos, Mexico and invited FM and I to come stay in one of the rooms. All we had to do was book our flight and the rest would be taken care of. Pretty sweet, right? And since his friend's wife and I get along really well, we were looking forward to hanging out with them.

They arrived in Cabo on Sunday and we were supposed to fly in on Monday. Well, you guys know what happened to that plan - we ended up flying there Wed. But thank goodness we did. Initially our trip was Mon-Thurs and if we had stuck to that schedule, we would have sat in the hotel room the entire time because of the rain. When we arrived on Wed., it was GORGEOUS. Because of the all the rain before, everything was green and felt fresh. It was hot but surprisingly not very humid and there was a nice breeze so the heat was bearable. We had great weather the entire trip and things couldn't have been more perfect.

Btw, I was nervous to fly on Wed., too, because Hurricane Jimena was still near Baja but Alaska Airlines really had things under control. We flew east towards Texas, then south, then back up north, avoiding the hurricane altogether. The flight was a bit longer but I don't think anybody minded. Smooth flight from start to finish.

Ok, I'll get on to the photos now.

Cabo Azul Resort (we stayed here our last trip, too, and I can't imagine staying anywhere else). We spent everyday sitting by one of the 3 pools - drinking margaritas, lounging, swimming, and relaxing. We only left the grounds to eat dinner. It was divine.

A couple of our friends ended up canceling due to the hurricane so the 3rd room sat vacant. Such a shame...look how pretty it was. We would have stayed in here if our room wasn't bigger.

We had dinner in town at a place called La Ponga (so delicious) and they had these lights strewn throughout all the trees in their garden/outdoor dining area. So lovely.

Massages on the sand, by the water.

Our friends' 2 year old son - He is scary smart & so articulate. Already knows letters and numbers, can name and distinguish all the characters on Thomas The Train, and verbally communicate all his needs to you. And he loved taking pictures which was fun. Such a mellow baby, too. I was completely smitten. :)

And on that happy note, I will end this post. I'm off to the salon this morning. I can't wait to trim my hair - I think when it gets to the point where you're able to sit on your hair, it's time for a cut. Have a great Monday!

ooh, i love the place you stayed at, so gorgeous!! Glad you were able to make it safely and enjoy your vacay!

J and I loved our time in Cabo, even more so than when we were in the Riviera Maya. We will def. be making a trip back soon. Love how short of a flight it is for us (and you too!) We ate at La Ponga last time we were there and I took pictures of those same star lanterns!
