Proust Questionnaire - HANAKO66 from Through The Looking Glass...

Believe it or not, it's actually harder to feature a blogger when they've become your friend. It's difficult to narrow down their awesomeness into a paragraph or two while still being able to showcase their finer points.

Such is the case with hanako66.

She's girly and feminine but loves Formula 1 and other motor sports. She prefers skirts and florals and colors but she also enjoys a cool pint of Guinness (and I wouldn't be shocked if she can drink us under the table). She has 2 adorable dogs who are named after liquors. She always manages to discover the best stuff on Etsy and has no problem sharing her finds with us on her weekly feature, Etsy Wednesdays. She knows how to eat and loves and appreciates good food.

Simply put, I adore her.

She's one of the first bloggers I've become friends with (she had me at, "know any good restaurants?") and as our friendship developed, it surprised me how much we had in common (What? You like Formula 1, too?...and Jimmy Page??...and Guinness???...will you marry me? :P) and how similar we were. And although we have yet to meet, I know she has my back as I do hers. She's just a down chick...a girl you'd want on your side, for better or worse.
And you'll adore her, too.
Trust me.

I hope you enjoy reading her answers.

WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF PERFECT HAPPINESS?
I am pretty happy with my current life…maybe my life now + baby + my dad healthy + my mom and i having our shop open. That and owning Blair Waldorf’s wardrobe…I’m kidding! Kind of☺

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST FEAR?
death.

WHAT IS THE TRAIT YOU MOST DEPLORE IN YOURSELF?
I suppose that I am a bit superficial…I like nice things, I can’t help it.

WHAT IS THE TRAIT YOU MOST DEPLORE IN OTHERS?
Ignorance.

WHICH LIVING PERSON DO YOU MOST ADMIRE?
My husband, he has the most unbelievable work ethic and such a big heart…and my mom, she is so sweet and caring…and my dad, he is an inspiration to all people struggling with cancer. He’s amazing.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST EXTRAVAGANCE?
I do not deny myself food, particularly of the dessert variety…I LOVE nice restaurants and a good meal.

WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT STATE OF MIND?
Haha! Hungry.

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER THE MOST OVERRATED VIRTUE?
Beauty…is that even a virtue? Is that the eternal question?

WHAT DO YOU MOST DISLIKE ABOUT YOUR APPEARANCE?
My super round face…I wish I had a pronounced jaw line. And I would love to be a bit taller. It would be cool to have super fair, porcelain skin too. Oh and blue eyes!

WHICH LIVING PERSON DO YOU MOST DESPISE?
I don’t know…Michael Vick today I guess…anyone that purposely hurts animals or children; they have no way of defending themselves.

WHAT IS THE QUALITY YOU MOST LIKE IN A MAN?
Generosity and humor.

WHAT IS THE QUALITY YOU MOST LIKE IN A WOMAN?
The same…

WHICH WORDS OR PHRASES DO YOU MOST OVERUSE?
Awesome, amazing, radical, dude, fabulous…I’m the type of person that makes up silly nicknames for everything too, so a lot of weird stuff.

WHAT OR WHO IS THE GREATEST LOVE OF YOUR LIFE?
My husband and my dogs (is that weird?)

WHEN AND WHERE WERE YOU HAPPIEST?
That’s hard… our wedding/honeymoon, whenever I was on stage, movie/football Sundays in bed with my husband and our pups.

WHICH TALENT WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO HAVE?
I wish I was an awesome seamstress. I have so many ideas and wish I had the ability to create them.

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT YOURSELF, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I may have just listed a bunch of stuff that I disliked about my personal appearance, but I am pretty comfortable in my own skin…I guess I would make it so that I toned naturally and never had to work out!

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT?
Realizing that the love of my life was right under my nose and buying our first home.

IF YOU WERE TO DIE AND COME BACK AS A PERSON OR A THING, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Ha! My dogs have the life!

WHERE WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO LIVE?
I’ve said this before, but it’s a tie between a cottage in Coronado, a modern condo in Palm Springs, a loft in London, a colonial in Martha's Vineyard, a victorian in San Francisco, a converted barn, church, or schoolhouse in Oregon, and a tudor on a vineyard in france.

My wedding gift from my husband…a simple diamond necklace, made from his grandmother’s wedding ring.

WHAT DO YOU REGARD AS THE LOWEST DEPTH OF MISERY?
Losing one that you love.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE OCCUPATION?
Geez, that’s hard…maybe a fashion photographer? I can’t imagine a cooler job than being a model…being paid to be pretty and wearing amazing clothing? Pretty cool. Oh and I would love to be a sommelier or a food critic.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST MARKED CHARACTERISTIC?
I am almost always exceptionally good natured. Physically, my hair.

WHAT DO YOU MOST VALUE IN YOUR FRIENDS?
The ability to make me laugh. honesty.

This list could be huge, I’m fairly eclectic when it comes to what I read…I’ll try to keep it short. Hemingway, Shakespeare, F. Scott Fitzgerald, J. K. Rowling, Jane Austen, Poe, Lewis Carroll, Hunter S. Thompson, Harper Lee, Mark Twain, Amy Tan, Tolkien, Dan Brown, J.D. Salinger, Bret Easton Ellis, Ray Bradbury. Okay, I’ll stop☺

WHO IS YOUR HERO OF FICTION?
I always start to identify with the characters in whatever I am reading, I get WAY into books. I don’t know, Jo March? Hermione Granger, haha!

WHO ARE YOUR HEROES IN REAL LIFE?
There are so many…Lance Armstrong, Sara Blakely, my parents, so many of my friends.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE NAMES?
I’m not going to give away my future baby names, but we think it’s fun to name our dogs after different types of liquor…our next animal is going to be Don Julio ha!

WHAT IS IT THAT YOU MOST DISLIKE?
Negativity. People who “settle”…if you want something or have a dream, you have to go for it!

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST REGRET?
Buying our first home 3 years ago (living in southern California, it has lost more than half of its value since), terrible timing.

HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO DIE?
Happy

WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO?
I have said this before on my blog, but I try to live by this quote
"Dance like no one is watching. Sing like no one is listening. Love like you've never been hurt and live like it's heaven on Earth." -Mark Twain
