This seems like a really useful site. I've already told the boy, though, when that big day comes, I want a three stone set in white gold or silver. I'm not into big rings, though, especially since I really don't wear them now anyway. I think this site seems like a great tool, and that also if a couple is comfortable discussing an eventual marriage/engagement (and they probably should be if they're going to get married someday!), they should really talk about the details of what kind of engagement ring the girl wants. It'll still be a surprise even if the girl knows what kind of ring she's probably getting, and the guy will probably feel a lot more at ease knowing she's going to like the offer of marriage AND the rock(s).

when it came down to getting the ring, FM actually sat me down and asked me exactly what i wanted. LOL after being together for 5 yrs (at that point), he knew better than to go get something he "thought would work" especially since he knows i'm very particular. so we sat down and i told him exactly what i wanted. i know it seems utterly unromantic but it saved him a lot of endless worrying and i have a ring that i love more everyday...even after 5 yrs of wearing it. discussing the ring might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it certainly worked out for us...to each their own, right? :)
