lil' red riding hood

Vintage cape w/faux fur hood, Zara turtleneck & belt, Old Navy skirt, tights from Marshall's, Matisse booties

I have been on what feels like an eternal search for the perfect red cape. A few weeks ago I went into a vintage shop and I swear the 1st thing that caught my eye was this cape. I quickly made a beeline for it and nearly jumped up and down when I realized it had a hood and it was trimmed in faux fur. And the wool is thin enough where it's not cumbersome. Score.

It's hard to tell in the photos, but my tights are houndstooth. Grey & black. I'll take better pics of them next time.

And it's still raining in LA - albeit here and there. But now we have wild winds. I managed to take these photos in the 5 min. we had some sun peak through. I'm jonesing for some dry, sunny weather.

Weekend roundup:
  • Rainy weekend = movie nights
  • Watched Braveheart - Last time I watched it was about 10 years ago...forgotten how good it is.
  • Watched Love In The Time Of Cholera - God awful movie. Book was a lot better.
  • Watched Rachel Getting Married - I can't decided whether this is a good film or not. I will tell you that I squirmed uncomfortably in my seat during several scenes. But Anne Hathaway delivered a great performance.
  • Watched Factory Girl - I gotta admit I was a wee bit disappointed. I wish it wasn't so syrupy and fantasized. Edie Sedgwick's story, unfortunately, was a lot grittier than what they portrayed in the movie. And Sienna...well, I think she did an alright job playing Edie. I dunno if she was as gee-golly as Sienna played her to be, but she wasn't bad.
  • Read Mr. Darcy's Diary - This has become one of my favorite books and I've already read it several times over. It's Mr. Darcy's take on the events in Pride & Prejudice and the author did a very convincing job telling his side of the story. I recommend this for all Pride & Prejudice fans.
Hope everyone is having a more pleasant time w/the winter weather than I am.

xx Nina

Well, further up the coast in Vancouver we've been getting all of LA's sunshine, but it's still chilly out!!

"Spring, where art thou!!"

I liked Factory Girl, but something about Sienna just wasn't working for me. I'm glad you mentioned Rachel Getting Married, I've been wanting to see that for a while. :)

As for the age, I'm 20 but feel 8 most of the time lol so being described as baby face just made my prematurely awakened morning ;)

All those movies on one weekend? How long was it raining? I was disappointed with Factory Girl as well. Too bubbly..old casting.

I adore the cape on you, the second photo is amazing. And I agree about Factory Girl- it was romanticized, in my opinion. I really liked Rachel Getting Married, however, but in retrospect more than at the time.
